As an ordained elder in the United Methodist Church, I don’t tell people how to live their lives, but I provide a context within which they can figure it out for themselves. During the privileged process of planning and leading a weekly worship experience and giving spiritual direction, I hear countless stories of resilience and triumph, heartbreak and loss. I get to stand beside people during some of their darkest moments, and witness overwhelming growth and change.
Through preaching and writing, I combine my years of education and training in theology, spirituality and leadership with my own personal and professional experience to provide pastoral care and teaching. Prior to my profession as a minister, I was a chef and direct sales consultant, as well as mother to three children. I believe strongly in viewing well-being holistically, but I also believe in moderation and indulgence. I consider myself to be a spiritual wisdom seeker, curious learner, friend and companion on life’s journey.
Participating in a church family is one of the best ways I know to live into God’s love, grace and mercy, expressed through Jesus Christ, through the power of the Holy Spirit. Praise and prayer, discussion and mission work all combine to put our faith into action. I hope you will join us on the journey!
